Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Location

Phoenix, Arizona

Schedule

12-hour day shifts
36 hours per week
Weekly orientations on Mondays, except during holiday weeks
May be placed on standby for a scheduled shift

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse license
BLS certification
ACLS certification
2 years of ICU experience in a large facility
Level I trauma experience
EVD experience
Strong neuro assessment skills
ICP monitoring experience
3–6 months of travel experience
Must have been away from CommonSpirit as permanent staff for 12 months to be considered for a travel assignment

Unit Details

32-bed Neuro ICU
1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Charge nurse available and does not take patients
Vents supported
Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7

Floating

Required to float between ICU floors and all telemetry units
May be assigned a 4:1 patient load on telemetry

Additional Notes

Teaching hospital
Travelers may be expected to work with nursing students
Natural hair colors only; no facial piercings
Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
Must have their own vehicle
Onboarding must be complete by 1:00 PM CST on the Wednesday before start
Day 1 pass/fail exam required
SIMs lab is pass/fail and includes Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with unit-specific exceptions noted in the source
