Description
Neuro ICU Registered Nurse
Location
Phoenix, Arizona
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Weekly orientations on Mondays, except during holiday weeks
- May be placed on standby for a scheduled shift
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- 2 years of ICU experience in a large facility
- Level I trauma experience
- EVD experience
- Strong neuro assessment skills
- ICP monitoring experience
- 3–6 months of travel experience
- Must have been away from CommonSpirit as permanent staff for 12 months to be considered for a travel assignment
Unit Details
- 32-bed Neuro ICU
- 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Charge nurse available and does not take patients
- Vents supported
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
Floating
- Required to float between ICU floors and all telemetry units
- May be assigned a 4:1 patient load on telemetry
Additional Notes
- Teaching hospital
- Travelers may be expected to work with nursing students
- Natural hair colors only; no facial piercings
- Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
- Must have their own vehicle
- Onboarding must be complete by 1:00 PM CST on the Wednesday before start
- Day 1 pass/fail exam required
- SIMs lab is pass/fail and includes Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with unit-specific exceptions noted in the source
