Required Qualifications

• Active nursing license for the role
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS or ENPC
• NIHSS
• TNCC
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry
• Ability to perform point-of-care lab testing
• Must be able to float within the zone’s ER locations, including mid-shift if needed
• Must be in state for the week of orientation

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday

Unit Details

• ER/ED float assignment
• Trauma levels vary by location
• Mixed ER holds
• No separate psych/seclusion rooms
• No monitor techs
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Tech support is available for unit secretary work, floor support, and triage assistance

Patient Volume and Ratios

• 23 to 93 patients per day, depending on location
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity

Orientation

• 2 to 3 days

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Housing / Travel Notes

• Housing is the traveler’s responsibility and must support floating across the full zone
• May be asked to float mid-shift, with paid travel time
