Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license for the role
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS or ENPC
- NIHSS
- TNCC
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry
- Ability to perform point-of-care lab testing
- Must be able to float within the zone’s ER locations, including mid-shift if needed
- Must be in state for the week of orientation
Schedule Requirements
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
Unit Details
- ER/ED float assignment
- Trauma levels vary by location
- Mixed ER holds
- No separate psych/seclusion rooms
- No monitor techs
- Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
- Charge nurse takes an assignment
- Tech support is available for unit secretary work, floor support, and triage assistance
Patient Volume and Ratios
- 23 to 93 patients per day, depending on location
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity
Orientation
- 2 to 3 days
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs
Housing / Travel Notes
- Housing is the traveler’s responsibility and must support floating across the full zone
- May be asked to float mid-shift, with paid travel time
