Description
RN - Cardiac ICU
Assignment Overview
- Travel nursing position in Saint Louis, Missouri
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Assignment length: 13 weeks
- Weekly hours: 36 or 48, depending on submission
- One opening
- Auto-offer position
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- CVICU experience within the last year
- 3 years of CVICU experience
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience
- Experience recovering open hearts directly from the OR
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC certification
- Experience with medical ICU patients and cardiac-focused cases such as arrhythmias, STEMI, and post-arrest care
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Weekend coverage as required by the facility, including every other weekend
- May float to other stepdown units based on staffing needs
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, and the traveler must be available for the entire orientation week
- Block scheduling may be approved based on facility requirements
- RTO of 5 days or less must be made up later in the assignment
- Only one holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment

- Cardiac Medical ICU
- 22 beds
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Common patient populations include sepsis, respiratory illness, post-cardiac arrest, GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, overdose, suicidal ideation, and CIWA
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing and walking
- Bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- May need to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- May need to pinch up to 15 lbs
- Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Compliance
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption is required for travelers from November 1 through April 1
- Declinations are not accepted
