Cardiovascular Technician
Job Overview
- Location: New York, New York
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 9am–9pm, 3 days per week
- Hours per week: 34.5
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New York
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- RCIS
- Excellent organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patient blood pressures and report changes from baseline to the physician
- Interpret intracardiac pressures and record pressures in chambers requested by the physician
- Maintain a complete procedure record using the cardiac cath lab computer
- Calibrate and operate procedure equipment, including A-Vox, cardiac output, and ACT
- Supply equipment during procedures, including catheters, wires, balloons, and stints
- Analyze procedure data and print required information
- Set up and calibrate the intra-aortic balloon pump and monitor it during procedures
- Assist in emergency situations, including defibrillation, artificial resuscitation, external pacing, and suctioning
- Replenish lab supplies and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Assist with cardiac catheterizations in a sterile field
- Set up patient rooms and enter patient information into the DX
- Assist nursing staff with patient transport
