ER I

Overview

• Emergency Department role in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
• Level I trauma Emergency Department with 51–60 beds/bays
• Night shift
• Long-term contract

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• 1 year of Emergency Department experience
• Emergency Department experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• Independent experience with breathing treatments, CPAP/BiPAP, mechanical ventilation, RSI medication administration, procedural sedation, chest tube setup and care, and tracheostomy care

Contract Details

• 13 weeks
• Every other weekend required
• No 48 hour contracts
• No special schedule requests
• RTO is auto approved up to 5 total days; if 5 days are consecutive, 1 week will be added to the end of the contract

Clinical Experience Needed

• Independent experience with breathing treatments, CPAP / BiPAP, mechanical ventilation, RSI medication administration, procedural sedation, chest tube setup & care, and tracheostomy care
• Experience managing trauma patients, cardiac emergencies, neurologic emergencies, medical & surgical emergencies, burn patients, behavioral health crises, and pediatric & NICU/PICU boarders when held in the ED

Unit Details

• Emergency Department
• Trauma Level I
• Ratios: 1:4 standard ED, 1:3 high acuity, 1:2 trauma / critical care
• Ancillary staff: ED Techs
• Patient age groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
• Patient mix: approximately 75% ambulatory/outpatient ED population and 25% inpatient boarders managed in the ED
• Pediatric volume: approximately 5%
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
