ED Holds/Tele RN

Gilbert, Arizona

Contract Length

13 weeks

Unit / Setting

• ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele
• 60 ED beds and 31 ED beds
• Nurses must be able to read and interpret strips
• No monitor tech in the ED
• ED PCTs available
• No vents

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• Strong cardiac tele background
• Ability to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters
• Ability to titrate drips
• Pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, through UNA, with 2 max attempts
• Pass a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation

Preferred

• 2 years of cardiac tele background

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts, 7a–7p
• 36 hours per week
• Ability to self-schedule, though this may change
• 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• No call required

Float Scope

• Med/surg/tele/overflow units
• EDs as needed

Orientation

• 2 shifts to Med/Surg/Tele at the primary campus

Additional Notes

• May help with ED patient tasks including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration
• Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment
• Navy scrubs
