Intensive Care Unit RN

Location

• Twin Falls, Idaho

Contract

• 13 weeks
• ASAP start only

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, nights
• Day and night shifts are available
• Usually every other weekend, possibly less depending on need
• Holidays as needed
• No call or standby requirement
• May be considered for block scheduling if it fits unit needs

Unit

• ICU and PCU combination unit
• 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1-2
• PCU nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
• Charge nurse does not take an assignment and supports the whole unit
• CNAs are on the unit with a 1:8 ratio
• Floating is between ICU and PCU patients within the unit
• First to float

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• 1 year of experience
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Thermaguard/Zoll cooling experience with TTM
• EPIC experience
• Previous travel experience
• Ability to titrate drips
• Comfortable reading and interpreting tele

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of ICU experience

Clinical Setting

• Travelers do not get specialty patients
• Common patient types include vented, cardiac post PCI, impella, IABP, stroke-TNK, targeted temperature management with Zoll cooling/thermaguard, vascular, traumas, EtOH, sepsis, OD, some abdominal trauma and surgical, and CRRT
• No CV surgical patients

Additional Details

• Navy blue scrubs
• Intensivist is in house 7 days a week, mostly days
• eICU is used for nights
• Hospitalist is in house 24/7
• RT is in ICU 24/7
• Tele tech is on the unit
• Unit orientation is 2 on the unit
