Schedule

Day shift, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• High school diploma or GED, and graduation from a formal surgical technologist program (or equivalent US military training)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital

Key Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties and maintains sterile supplies and sterile technique
• Assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients
• Assembles, organizes, and completes case carts according to doctor’s preference lists
• Provides instrumentation, suture, and supplies as requested and maintains a sterile environment
• May assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases
• Counts sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy
• Assists with specimen care and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis
• Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps according to policy and standards of practice
• Assists with room turnover, cleanup, restocking, and care of instruments and equipment

Additional Details

• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need
• May be required to be on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
