Description
ICU RN
Overview
- Travel contract in Tacoma, Washington.
- 13-week assignment.
- Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
- Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours.
Required Qualifications
- Active BLS and ACLS.
- Washington RN license; pending license is needed to submit.
- 2 full years of ICU specialty experience.
Unit Details
- Medical ICU.
- 82 critical care beds total: 48 ICU and 34 PCU, across 3 separate floors.
- Primarily PCU with float to ICU.
- Float eligible between all ICUs and PCU.
- If needed, travelers will float throughout Region Two.
- ICU ratios: 1:1 and 1:2.
- PCU ratio: 1:3.
- EPIC is used.
- Charge nurse: yes, 1 per floor.
- Nurse aides: 2 per floor.
- Vents: yes.
- Drips: all ICU-level drips.
- Tele/Monitor Techs: only in PCU.
- IV Team: yes.
- RT 24/7: yes.
- Pharmacy 24/7: yes.
- Common diagnoses: all critical care diagnoses.
Schedule
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
- Holidays: rotate with permanent staff.
- Shifts: 7a-7p and 7p-7a.
Additional Notes
- Do not require travelers to take IABP or CRRT unless they have that experience.
- Looking for strong Med Surg RNs.
- Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year.
