RN - PCU

Overview

Travel RN role in ICU Stepdown / PCU.
Unit has 20 beds.
Shift: Standard.
Hours per week: 36.
Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado.
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience).
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
BLS.
ACLS.
NIHSS.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Experience with cardiac drips.
Experience with titratable drips.
Experience with neuro checks.

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive NEURO experience.
PCU experience.
Cardiac experience.

Unit Details

Staffed by RNs and PCTs.
Patient ratio is 1:4.
Equipment includes Tele, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, bipap, cpap, heated high flow, chest tubes, foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps.
Typical procedures include chest tube placement and removal, pacer wire removal, and 12 lead EKGs.
Drips used include heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, and ketamine.
