RN Tele
Role
- RN Tele
- Travel assignment

- Nights, 1900-0730
- 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week

Unit
- Telemetry Unit
- 32 beds
- Fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit
- Floats as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- 1 year of experience in Med Surg / Telemetry
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Driver's License
- Experience reading telemetry
- Experience with congestive heart failure (CHF) care
- Experience with cardiac or critical care drips
- Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications
- Experience with central lines, including hemodialysis catheters, ports, and PICCs
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for travelers from November 1-April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Qualifications
- Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation
- Potential experience with dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, and milrinone drips
- Chest tubes and other drains
- CIWA withdrawal protocol
Patient Population / Clinical Experience
- CHF
- Chest pain
- Arrhythmias, mostly AFib, flutter, and SVT
- Respiratory
- Renal
- Hemodialysis
- Overflow patients may include sepsis, urology, surgical, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, and GI bleeds
Schedule / Staffing Notes
- Weekend hours as required by facility, every other weekend
- No call
- Blocked scheduling may be approved based on facility requirements
- RTO of 5 days or less must be made up on the back end
- Holiday RTO: 1 per assignment
- Night shift orients on day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation
Work Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the time
- Significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- May work differing schedules, shifts, days, or frequency based on patient care needs
- High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- May need to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs; kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
