CT Technologist Position Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans, strictly following department policies for patient safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary for tests.
• Position patients safely, including lifting or moving patients with limited mobility using safe patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting all necessary components within EPIC, ensuring images are properly identified and sent to the PACS system upon exam completion.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to starting).
• Minimum 2 years of experience (specialty experience).
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Siemens scanner experience required.
• Epic system experience highly desired.
• Injection certification preferred; willingness to complete during orientation.

Work Schedule

• Monday – Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM EST.
• On call, callback, and holiday shifts as needed.
