Job Opportunity: Level 2B RN - 36hrs. Nights and EOW

Unit Description

Level 2B Special Care Nursery
25-bed unit including Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum (PP), Newborn Nursery (NBN), 2 Operating Rooms (ORs), 2 Antepartum Nursery (ANU) rooms, and Recovery Room (RR)
Average daily census: 15-25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients
EMR system: EPIC

Patient Population

Mothers and newborns in special care nursery and labor/delivery/postpartum settings

Shift Details

36 hours per week
Night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
Rotating day shifts (7 AM-7 PM, 11 AM-11 PM, 7 PM-7 AM) with 1 night of call; evening and night shifts do not rotate

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

L&D: 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural
PP: 1:3-4

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of Postpartum nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
Nursery experience
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
