Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool - Registered Nurse

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Float pool position covering various pediatric units including:
    • PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
    • NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
    • Pediatric Med/Surg
    • Pediatric PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
    • Pediatric ED boarders
    • Postpartum / Mother-Baby units
  • Must be comfortable working across pediatric specialties with prior NICU and PICU float pool experience preferred.
  • Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), totaling 36 hours/week.
  • Scheduling is block-based but block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or accommodated.
  • Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
  • Time off can be approved up to 40 hours.
  • Must adhere to the facility’s float policy.
  • Epic electronic health record experience required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Minimum 1 year of float experience, including float experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) experience
  • NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
