Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 9.5 hours each, 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM)

Job Description

• Perform all routine CT procedures
• Approximately 20 cases per day
• Charting system used: EPIC
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call duties
• First-time travelers accepted
• Scrub color: Any

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required within 48 hours of signing
• Employment eligibility verification (E-Verify) required
• Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
• Drug screen (10-panel urine test) within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (specific testing protocols apply)
• Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Immunization proof or positive titer for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
• Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing mandatory prior to start; must be updated annually
• Color vision test required if job tasks involve color discrimination
• Completion of required competency exams (Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, IV Therapy/Infusion) within 72 hours of signing
• Pass/fail testing for EKG and Pharmacology required with remediation and cancellation policies in place
• Annual education sign-off and facility-specific orientation required prior to start
• References: Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start (New Jersey state requirement)
• Skills checklist updated annually

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent, required for all RNs and applicable techs
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Not required for CT Tech
• Other certifications (e.g., NRP, PALS, CHEMO) not applicable for this role

Additional Requirements

• Completion of OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training
• Facility-specific policies including floating policy and medication storage procedures must be acknowledged
• Candidates must sign job description and other facility-required attestations prior to start
• Candidates with a history of positive TB must complete additional medical clearance forms
• Candidates must comply with latex allergy screening if applicable

Notes

• Candidates must bring all required documentation to orientation
• Facial hair must be clean-shaven for fit testing unless a medical or religious accommodation is approved
• Candidates switching between sites with less than 30 days gap may reuse prior documentation if within required timeframes

This position offers a structured night shift schedule with no on-call responsibilities, suitable for CT Technologists with at least one year of experience and required certifications, ready to work in a fast-paced environment performing routine CT scans.
