Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening, Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Work Setting: Outpatient clinic and emergent care patients only (no procedures)


Job Description

  • Perform CT imaging for outpatient and emergent care patients.
  • Collaborate with a unit support tech and another CT tech.
  • Work with a supportive team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in New York.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist.
  • CT Technologist experience within the last year.
  • IV certification.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
  • Successful completion of an advanced EKG/ECG competency exam within 72 hours of contract start (90% passing score required, 100% on lethal rhythms).
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Color blindness test preferred.
  • NIH Stroke Certification (APEX or AHA NIHSS) may be assigned during orientation if not already obtained.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date; must complete onsite occupational health physical including a "TSH Medical History" form.
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold) within 1 year; chest X-ray required if past positive PPD.
  • Fit test for N95 mask (3M 1870) required; quantitative test only accepted if done externally.
  • 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start; must be negative and meet specific lab requirements.
  • Up-to-date immunizations or titers for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by December 5th, 2024; mask required if exempt.
  • Ishihara color deficiency test required prior to start (can be completed onsite).

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID).
  • Background checks including 7-year search, nationwide, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks.
  • Facility-specific documents such as FCRA authorization release and lift assessment (typically 25 lb, may be 10 lb depending on position).
  • Completion of virtual general orientation and clinical testing modules prior to start date.
  • Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (New York State mandated for RNs and LPNs).
  • Professional references: 2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (not required for non-clinical roles).

Notes

  • Candidates must pass all required competency exams within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Candidates failing the EKG exam have up to 3 attempts with remediation support.
  • Local residency restrictions apply; candidates residing in certain counties within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for new contracts.
  • Physical and health documentation must be current and compliant with facility and state requirements.
