Job Description
- Work in a Tier 5 unit specializing in Gynecology, Urology, and Transplant surgeries.
- Procedures include kidney and pancreas transplants, robotic surgeries (Da Vinci Xi robot), hysterectomy, nephrectomy, HOLEP, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, laparoscopic gynecology, anterior/posterior repair, abdominal hysterectomy, and organ procurements.
- Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 12-hour shifts (9:40 AM – 10:10 PM), Monday to Friday with weekend call.
- Orientation for the first two weeks: Monday to Friday, 6:40 AM – 3:10 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience in Urology and Transplant Surgery.

Compliance and Background Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, county, and nationwide sex offender searches.
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID form required within 90 days of start.

- Physical exam and immunization documentation per facility standards (including TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or approved exemptions).
- Monthly monitoring for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG compliance.
Certifications and Testing
- BLS (AHA) required; renewals must be planned in advance with proof of renewal accepted temporarily.
- ACLS (AHA) may be required.
- Facility-specific telemetry exams (Adult and/or Pediatric) required for inpatient units, with strict passing criteria and remediation process.
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication competency as applicable.
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
- MMR: 2 doses or positive titers required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- Varicella: 2 doses or positive titer required; exemptions accepted.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive titer or facility-specific declination form required if providing direct patient care.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually during flu season.
- Other vaccines or declinations as required by specific departments (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology).
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge must meet facility specifications (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons).
- Completion of facility-specific communicable disease form within 90 days of start.
- Signed acknowledgment of pass/fail testing if telemetry testing is required.
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard).
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required.
Work Hours
- 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week.
- Shift times: 9:40 AM to 10:10 PM, Monday through Friday with weekend call.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong background in urology, gynecology/oncology, transplant, and robotic surgery who are comfortable working in a high-acuity operating room environment on a travel contract basis.
