Adult Psych RN
Overview
- Location: Salem, Massachusetts
- Employment type: Long-term assignment
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; day/evening/night rotation with every other weekend
- Shift pattern includes rotating day shifts; nights do not rotate
- Free on-site parking
Unit Details
- Adult inpatient psychiatric unit
- 30 beds
- Patient population: adults ages 18 to 65
- Unit cares for patients with mental health conditions and some medically acute needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of psychiatric experience
- Psychiatric experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience in charge roles
- Proficiency with automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell)
- Proficiency with psychotropic medications and their side effects
Additional Information
- Floating required
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations
- Knowledge of restraint and seclusion requirements, legal statuses, guardianship, healthcare proxy, and court-ordered medication
- On-site AVADE training and lead EKG training are offered
