Opportunity:
Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech
Job Details:
• Day shift with variable start times between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM
• No weekend rotation required
• On-call responsibilities with 30-minute response time required
• On-call schedule covers 8-week rotation, subject to change based on staffing needs
• AM on-call slots include end-of-shift coverage (8-10 slots), overnight 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM (1-2 slots), and weekend call (1-2 weekends)
• PM on-call slots include overnight 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM (5-10 slots) and weekend call (1-2 weekends)
• Holiday weeks allow choice of working 4 ten-hour shifts or taking the holiday unpaid
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; not recommended for first-time travelers
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Required certifications: CST, BLS
• Neuro/ENT skills required including spine surgeries (laminectomies, ALIFs, fusions, and discectomies), cranial surgeries (tumors, VP shunts, subdural, EVDs), and ENT procedures (neck dissections with flaps, sinus surgery with Stealth Navigation, tympanoplasty)
• Navigation system experience required: Medtronic (cranial and spine), Medtronic Stealth (ENT), Stryker and Synaptive Navigation (cranial)
• Orthopedic skills required including fractures, anterior hips, total joints, ortho spine, and hand/podiatry procedures; Hanna Table experience required
• General surgery skills required including breasts/plastics, vascular, laparoscopic, general oncology, genitourinary (GU), and gynecology (GYN)
• Robotic surgery experience (Xi) considered only for candidates with strong background and commitment to more than one contract
• Cross-trained to General Main OR specialty and Urology Center; no floating to other hospitals or sites
• Charting and equipment systems include EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis
• Surgical scrubs provided by facility; scrub caps must be covered by a surgical bouffant
• Free parking available with shuttle service provided to and from parking structure
Facility:
This facility is a large 636-bed medical center and Level III Trauma Center with a Level III NICU, Magnet Designation, and Primary Stroke Center recognition. The main operating room features 21 OR beds and offers a broad range of surgical specialties including neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, general surgery, and robotic procedures. The facility provides strong unit support through charge nurses, leads, supervisors across AM, PM, and weekend shifts, and a dedicated unit manager.
