Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts rotating between days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 4x12 hour shift schedule per week
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holiday requirements: 2 out of 3 holidays required
• Opportunity/potential to be placed on call or standby
• Must be able to float to Med/Surg with patient ratios of 1:3-6
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU; 3:1 for IMC dependent on acuity
• 5-bed ICU unit with 2 IMC beds in hallway
• Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, septic shock, detox, DKA, A-fib, and arrhythmias requiring pacing
• Strong vent management skills required; no pulmonology, dialysis, or cardiac surgery performed
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in an ICU setting required
• Must be comfortable floating to MS-Tele
• Preferred experience in Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 settings, or rural settings
• Required to titrate drips including Levophed, propofol, Cardizem, esmolol, and insulin
• Must be comfortable troubleshooting and assisting with respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow
• Telemonitor tech support available 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM daily; RNs must verify strips and monitor MS unit strips
• Charge nurses take full patient assignments
• No nurse aides on the unit
• Hospitalist or intensivist in house until 6:00 PM daily; ICU Tele Physician coverage available at night
• Self-scheduling accommodated when possible; longer blocks of 6 shifts preferred
• Solid professional dress code required; no specific scrub color
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)

This acute care facility operates a 5-bed ICU with intermediate care capabilities, providing critical care services in a rural community hospital setting. The facility functions as a Trauma Level 4 center and utilizes ICU Tele Physician coverage during overnight hours to support its critical care team. The organization emphasizes collaborative care with respiratory therapy and telemetry support available around the clock, offering a well-rounded critical care environment for experienced ICU nurses.
