Description

Job Summary:
An Operating Room (OR) Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) registered nurse (RN) is sought for a facility located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The position involves circulating complex cardiovascular and thoracic cases, including coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), aortic valve replacements (AVR), mitral valve replacements (MVR), aortic aneurysm repairs, and other specialty procedures. Candidates are required to bring their Indiana state nursing license on the first day. This is a 13-week contract opportunity with a schedule of 06:30 am to 05:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with call responsibilities every fifth weekday and weekend.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 06:30 am to 05:00 pm, Monday through Friday, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Indiana state nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, 2-4 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery in an operating room setting, experience circulating complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases such as CABG, AVR, MVR, ascending aortic aneurysms, aortic root replacements, abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs, femoral-popliteal bypass, carotid endarterectomy, arteriovenous fistula, Impella placement, ECMO case management, thoracotomy, ventricular assist devices, and robotic thoracotomy. Experience working with Cerner electronic medical records is preferred.
  • Additional Information:
    • No option for block schedule
    • Patient ratio of 1:1
    • Call requirements: Every 5th weekday and weekend
    • Duration: 13 weeks
    • Shift hours: 06:30 am - 05:00 pm
    • Must include drivers license and permanent home address on submissions, matching ID.
    • Must attach required licenses and certifications with submission, or the application will be rejected.
    • Travelers must be greater than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted.
    • Scrubs are provided by the hospital; dress code details and parking information are not specified.
    • No additional administrative or organizational personnel involved in the interview process are specified.
