Description

Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Rochester, Minnesota. This critical care role requires specialized nursing skills to care for critically ill pediatric patients across a variety of specialties, including transplant and multi-organ complex cases. The RN will be responsible for coordinating nursing care, supporting patient and family education, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced pediatric ICU environment.

Job Details

  • Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule includes day and night rotations, and every third weekend is required. Floating to other units may be needed as required.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the applicable state, two years of recent acute nursing experience, one year of recent travel RN experience, and at least one year of PICU RN experience. Experience with level 1 trauma and intubated patient care is mandatory; solid organ transplant experience is strongly preferred. Cardiac monitoring/telemetry skills and ECG exam pass during orientation are required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) and TCTCN (Trauma Certification for Pediatric Critical Care Nurses) certifications are strongly preferred. Additional certifications such as PALS and BLS are expected.
  • Special Skills and Certifications: Expertise in acute nursing, pediatric intensive care, trauma care, intubated patient management, and solid organ transplant. Certifications including CCRN and TCTCN are highly desired.
  • Education: Must be a graduate or student of an accredited nursing program with applicable RN license. Applicants should have relevant RN experience if graduated from a non-accredited program or not within the last two years.
