Description
Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves providing high-acuity patient care in a comprehensive stroke and neuro-focused environment. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes in a dynamic and supportive setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: KY Registered Nurse License, NIHSS certification, BLS certification, at least 2 years of RN experience with 3 years preferred in a hospital setting involving neuro or stroke patient care
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro assessments, phlebotomy, EKG rhythm analysis, NG/Dobhoff placement by nurses, stability with high-flow oxygen and Bipap support
- Float: Float to mixed acuity only
- Additional Information:
- Unit includes mixed acuity patients with diagnoses such as stroke, neuro conditions, ICH, neurosurgery overflow, post TPA care, mechanical thrombectomy, NIH scores every 4 hours
- Staff includes CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, vascular access teams, resource teams (Sepsis, Rapid Response), RT, hospitalists, specialists, and intensivists available 24/7
- Technology utilized includes Cerner EMR, Plum ICU medical IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and specialized equipment such as Sera Steady, Arjo lifts, Kangaroo pumps, Sapphire PCA pumps
- Orientation: 24 hours (three 12-hour shifts), with one shift at the end of week one and one at the start of week two
- Shift times: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with clock-in available at 6:53 PM and a required huddle at 7:00 PM
- Scrub color: Galaxy blue
- Parking: Free onsite flat lot with badge access
