Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse position in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at a healthcare facility located in Ottumwa, Iowa. The role involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality obstetric services. The position offers an opportunity to work within a comprehensive hospital setting dedicated to patient-centered care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shift times, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; 1-2 years of obstetric nursing experience; Iowa SING background check clearance (criminal and child abuse portions); thorough background checks across counties and states; mandatory Child and Adult reporter certification; 10-panel drug screening including opiates; titers within the past 12 months (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in labor and delivery settings, proficiency with electronic fetal monitoring and Philips Tracevue equipment
- Shift: Night shift, 12 hours
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: August 24, 2026
- Additional Information: The role involves caring for patients during active labor with a patient ratio of 1:1, and providing postpartum care within a hospital environment. Candidates must be adaptable to float to other units as needed throughout the hospital.
