Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Wheeling, West Virginia. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a 52-bed unit specializing in post-operative, neuro, and general medical care. The position requires adaptability to float to related units and working scheduled 12-hour night shifts within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with shifts from 0645-1915 and 1845-0715. Schedules are created for a 6-week cycle, allowing staff to submit up to 6 requests off during this period.
• Required Qualifications: Current BLS (American Heart Association) Certification, NIHSS Certification, two years of experience in a medical surgical setting, West Virginia nursing license, willingness to wait for license submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with peritoneal dialysis and reading Strips is advantageous.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, with potential assignments to MedSurg/Oncology or overflow areas.
• Additional Information:
  • The unit specializes in ortho, neuro, and general post-ops, with patients including post-surgical and medical diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, and infections.
  • Experience with hemodialysis, particularly peritoneal dialysis, is highly preferred.
  • The hospital operates a 24/7 ICU intensivist team, hospitalist, IV team, RT, and pharmacy services.
  • Certification in ACLS is a plus but not required.
  • A comprehensive hospital orientation plus two full shifts on the unit is provided.
  • All candidates must include a copy of their unexpired drivers license and disclose licensing hits at the time of submission.
