Description

Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Specialist in the Open Heart specialty. This position involves supporting complex cardiac and vascular surgeries within a high-volume operating room environment. The assignment offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, teaching-focused healthcare setting, providing critical surgical support.

Job Details

  • Shift: 12-hour days, 0700-1930, with flexibility for variable start times and days; call required including weekends and holidays.
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST (within 1 year of hire/transfer); BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross; High School Diploma or GED; graduate of surgical technologist program; a minimum of 2 years surgical tech experience; CVOR surgical tech experience required; recent heart experience required; previous travel and academic/teaching facility experience; no work history gaps greater than 30 days without explanation; at least 1 reference dated within the past 12 months.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Vascular or neuro experience; strong cardiac background; peripheral experience preferred.
  • Additional Information: Must be committed to flexible scheduling; respond within 45 minutes for call; must document facility type, EMR (electronic medical record), and bed count; manager interviews required; scrubs issued by the healthcare provider; Florida ACHA approval process may take up to 14 business days; no RTO during the first 2 weeks of assignment, with a maximum of 8 days RTO for the 13-week contract; exemption forms for seasonal influenza vaccination may be submitted for medical reasons.
