Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) specialty position in an academic healthcare setting. This role involves providing advanced surgical technologist support in a busy cardiovascular operating room focusing on open heart procedures. The position requires flexibility, strong cardiac experience, and the ability to work nights.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour nights, 1900-0730; minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST (within 1 year of hire/transfer); BLS (AHA or American Red Cross); High School Diploma or GED; graduate of surgical technologist program; minimum of 2 years surgical tech experience; CVOR surgical tech experience; previous travel experience; academic/teaching facility experience; no more than 180 days gap from clinical employment; peripheral experience preferred; ability to respond within 45 minutes for call; at least one reference from past 12 months.
- Preferred Qualifications: Vascular/Neuro experience; strong cardiac experience highly preferred.
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours, 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information:
- Travel required; float is not required.
- Must be flexible with scheduling; possible variable start times and days; call as needed including weekends and holidays.
- Manager interviews required; facility-issued scrubs; FL ACHA approval may take up to 14 business days.
- RTO policy prohibits requests within the first 2 weeks; maximum 8 days RTO for this 13-week contract.
- Seasonal influenza vaccination exemption requests are permitted with proper documentation.
