Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Aurora, Colorado. This travel assignment involves providing high-quality patient care in a busy and dynamic obstetrics unit with a focus on labor, delivery, and postpartum care. The role requires clinical expertise in managing labor patients, overseeing C-section recoveries, and participating in OB triage and evaluation, supporting a team-oriented environment.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours shifts
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Position Type: Travel RN in the Labor and Delivery (L&D) department
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Candidates must have a minimum of 1-year current acute care labor and delivery Registered Nurse (RN) experience
    • BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
    • Must be able to circulate for Cesarean section procedures
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior Meditech experience
    • Strong OB triage skills
  • Additional Information:
    • The unit consists of 13 beds with a staffing ratio focused on mostly 1:1 patient care.
    • Team player personality is essential due to the small but busy unit.
    • The unit adheres to AWHOONN (Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines.
    • Typical duties include triaging and evaluating OB patients, managing labor, overseeing recovery of vaginal and C-section deliveries, and managing labor induction with Cervidil, Cytotec, and Pitocin.
    • The unit promotes high employee engagement, uses new equipment and technology, and offers self-scheduling and a family-oriented team environment.
