Description

Job Summary:
Telemetry RN Telemetry Location TBD. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and critical care in a telehealth setting. The role includes caring for patients primarily from emergency departments waiting for hospital beds, with a focus on cardiac telemetry monitoring and drug titration.

Job Details:

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, with at least 2 years of recent experience within the past 6 months in a telehealth or telemetry setting. Must have current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Ability to self-schedule, with the requirement to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule, and rotate in with the permanent staff for major holidays.
  • Additional Qualifications: Strong cardiac telehealth background with ability to decrease cardiac drips according to physicians orders and parameters. Experience with titrating medications such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone. Ability to read and interpret strip readings independently.
  • Responsibilities: Caring for patients from emergency departments waiting for hospital beds, including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration (not primary RN for ED patients). Will be responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms and titrating drips as prescribed. May float to medical, surgical, telemetry, or overflow units as needed.
  • Orientation: 2 shifts of orientation to Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units at the primary campus.
  • Submission Requirement: Candidates must be able to pass a dysrhythmia exam via RELIAS within 48 hours of offer acceptance and complete a pass/fail simulation lab on day one of orientation.
