Telemetry Nurse, Days located at the healthcare facility, provides specialized nursing care for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The role involves evaluating and managing patients with complex medical conditions, ensuring optimal cardiovascular health, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.

Job Details

• Position: Telemetry Nurse, Days shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and EKG competency.
• Responsibilities include interpreting cardiac strips, managing drips such as Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem, and providing direct patient care in a 29-bed unit with private rooms.
• The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1, with RN staff responsible for interpreting electrocardiogram strips and rhythm changes.
• Certification in EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring experience are essential.
• Unit-specific orientation includes two shifts with a preceptor.
• Shifts are scheduled via a self-scheduling model; staff are placed in blocks for holidays.
• Weekend requirements include three shifts per schedule period, with specific weekend days assigned based on shift (Saturday/Sunday for day shifts, Friday/Saturday for night shifts).
• Holiday rotations require working two major winter holidays and one summer holiday.
• Standby shifts are part of the schedule, and the unit predominantly floats within the service line and overflow areas, based on skillset and project needs.
• Scrubs provided: Navy Blue, with designated scrub colors for other departments.
• RT (Respiratory Therapist) support available 24/7; RNs administer breathing treatments.
• Must provide a valid Driver's License and pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer, exclusive to UNA, with a maximum of two attempts.
• Candidate should not reside within 50 miles of the facility.
