Job Summary
Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric Floor Long Beach, CA. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for pediatric patients across various age groups, including neonates through adolescents, in a busy hospital setting. The role supports a diverse patient population, including medical, surgical, oncology, NICU, and PICU, with a focus on compassionate, high-quality care.

Job Details

• Certifications and Qualifications: BLS, PALS certifications required. Valid California nursing license in hand and Nursys report pulled within 2 weeks. Two years of relevant pediatric nursing experience required.
• Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (1900-0730), minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Administration of blood and blood products, management of infusion therapies such as BiPAP/CPAP, blood culture collection, central line care, wound management, sedation administration, pediatric medication calculations, and use of Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring. Providing patient and family education and ensuring adherence to pediatric care standards.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be flexible to float within the hospital based on census and patient needs. Orientation includes approximately 8 hours of EPIC training. No transplants or ventilator-dependent patients, with most cardiac surgery patients in the CTICU. Higher census during respiratory season, with patient ages ranging from 2 days to 21 years old.
• Submission Requirements: CA license in hand, Nursys documentation attached, and at least one reference within the past two years. RTO (Request for Time Off) must be approved and submitted with the application.
