Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department and Trauma unit serving approximately 250–300 patients per day
- Manage a patient assignment at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across acute and subacute care areas
- Perform and maintain competency in skills including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath management, adhering to strict sterile field technique
- Monitor patients using telemetry (Phillips monitors) and demonstrate ability to read cardiac strips
- Participate in unit orientation including SIMs Lab skills assessments, lifts, restraints, and wound care education
- Float as needed between multiple Emergency Department locations within the network, approximately 30 minutes apart
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience
- At least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (ENPC is not an acceptable substitute for PALS)
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Must have personal reliable transportation; ability to float between facilities required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC and/or ATCN certification preferred
- Experience with psychiatric hold patients and high-acuity trauma populations
- Familiarity with spinal cord and traumatic brain injury patient populations
