Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Location
Carlsbad, New Mexico
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (Travel) | 13 Weeks | Days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the care team
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects, maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of patient care
- Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in the anticipation and planning of safe patient care delivery
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff, providing direction and supervision as needed
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with MedHost (EDIS) a plus
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travel assignments
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification preferred
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
