Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment including CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, and patient monitoring devices to acquire diagnostic images in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Prepare, position, and immobilize patients for exams; explain procedures while addressing physical and emotional needs and maintaining patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction, following all applicable contrast administration policies and procedures.
- Execute Radiology Information System functions for each patient exam, including scheduling, exam completion, and image transfer to PACS.
- Calibrate and verify equipment operation daily; report malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs with appropriate personnel.
- Float among radiology clinics and associated divisions as needed; assume on-call coverage responsibilities and maintain flexibility with shift coverage and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license and CT Technologist license required.
- ARRT registration in CT (or equivalent) required.
- Level 1 trauma experience required.
- Siemens CT equipment experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients under physical and/or emotional stress; analytical ability to apply knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2–3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least one year specifically in CT.
- Experience overseeing or instructing radiology students or support personnel within a clinical department.
