Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Holiday and Weekend Rotation Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct inpatient nursing care on a general medical/surgical unit specializing in digestive disease, including patients with complex GI diagnoses
- Care for patients in Bariatric and Autologous Islet Cell programs, serving individuals 17 years of age and older
- Support primary medical services including Luminal, Hepatology, and GI Surgery (Pancreobiliary, Bariatric, and Surgical Oncology)
- Deliver complex nursing care utilizing a modified modular nursing model in a collaborative team environment
- Float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
- Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June through November) as required
Required Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (SC license must be active prior to start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience
- Proficiency or ability to work with EPIC electronic health records system
- Availability for weekend shifts (4 shifts per 4-week period) and holiday rotation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a medical/surgical or digestive disease/GI inpatient setting
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, or Magnet-designated hospital
- Familiarity with bariatric or surgical oncology patient populations
