Registered Nurse – Med Surg Step Down (IMC/PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 36 hours per week | Day/Night Rotating | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00a–7:30p and 7:15p–7:15a) | Includes holiday and weekend rotations

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg Step Down / Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU) setting
• Monitor and assess patients requiring an intermediate level of care between general med surg and intensive care
• Rotate between day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays, as scheduled
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact state eligibility
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience in Med Surg Step Down, IMC, PCU, or comparable acute care setting
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an intermediate care or progressive care unit
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills in a fast-paced environment
