Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 52-bed Medical Surgical unit (all private rooms) with a patient ratio of approximately 1:6–7
- Manage a diverse patient population including post-operative orthopedic, general surgical, and neurological patients, as well as medical diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, and CHF
- Monitor and manage drips including Heparin, PCAs with MSO4, and occasional Ativan infusions; support patients on BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen as needed
- Assess patient IV sites and coordinate with the in-house IV and PICC teams for IV placement; utilize Pyxis for medication management via in-house pharmacy
- Collaborate with in-house Hospitalists, Respiratory Therapy, and support staff including CNAs to deliver coordinated patient care
- Participate in the weekend rotation (every other weekend; Nights: Friday/Saturday) and contribute to the holiday rotation schedule
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
- BLS certification (required)
- NIHSS certification (required)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules
- Experience with EMR systems (facility uses Sunrise)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a copy of an unexpired driver's license is required with submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification is a strong plus
- Experience with peritoneal dialysis is highly preferred, as hemodialysis is performed on this unit
- Experience reading telemetry strips (remote tele monitoring is utilized; RNs are not required to read strips but may do so if experienced)
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, Med/Surg Oncology, or Intermediate Care setting
