Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients in the PACU setting, collaborating with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and Surgical staff
- Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, and facility policies and procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for safe patient care delivery
- Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff; provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
- Fulfill call requirements: approximately 6–8 days per month
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of PACU or relevant RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must not be a local candidate — locals will not be considered for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working collaboratively with surgical and anesthesia teams in a fast-paced perioperative environment
- Familiarity with AORN standards and post-anesthesia care best practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills in a multi-disciplinary care setting
