Contract | Full-Time | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend | 1–2 Winter Holidays Required | On-Call/Standby up to 4 times during contract duration
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units covering a range of specialties including surgical, neuro, ortho/spine, cardiac, oncology, and general medical cases
- Manage a patient assignment of 4–5 patients per shift; titrate drips including insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, dobutamine, dopamine, and Cardizem per med/surg guidelines
- Verify telemetry strip readings in collaboration with remote telemetry techs
- Manage patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and trach care; transfer to critical care when drip parameters are exceeded
- Float as needed throughout the full Med/Surg/Telemetry division, including transition and holding units adjacent to the ED; may also be required to float to facilities within the regional network
- Participate in unit orientation across all primary Med/Surg units prior to independent assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Washington
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
- Ability and willingness to float across all Med/Surg and Telemetry units and divisions
- Must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility within the CommonSpirit health system, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Familiarity with drip titration protocols in a med/surg setting
- Experience caring for neuro, oncology, ortho/spine, or cardiac patient populations
- Comfort working in high-census, multi-unit environments with variable assignments
