Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department treating 75+ patients per day, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage and monitor common diagnoses including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, dyspnea, headache, and traumatic injuries
- Administer and monitor common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia agents
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices
- Participate in triage, fast track, and psychiatric/seclusion room patient care as assigned
- Fulfill weekend and holiday scheduling requirements; self-scheduling and block scheduling are available
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
- Clinicians must be present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Level III Trauma Center or Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
- Familiarity with phlebotomy and lab draws in an emergency setting
- Experience working in departments with dedicated fast track, triage, and psychiatric/seclusion areas
- Comfort working alongside respiratory therapy, in-house security, and multidisciplinary ED teams
