Epstein 5 Adult Psych.BriefUnit Description: 30-bed unit, adults ages 18-65. We treatpatients with diverse types of mental health issues (anxiety, depression,suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personalitydisorder, dual diagnosis patients: Detox here on the unit while treating mentalhealth issues), and some medically acute patients (IVs, CPAPs, Wound Care,diabetic care).Years of Experience Required:2 years minimum of inpatient adult psych experience.SkillSets Required: Proficient in using automatic medicationdispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in the use of psychotropicmedications and side effects. Able to assume the role of charge nurse; able tocomplete admissions and discharges. Competent in the use of IV pumps and careof diabetic patients.Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1RN to 7 or 8 patients.PatientPopulation: Adultsages 18 to 65 years.BedCount: 30.EMR(Charting System): EPIC
