Description

Experience: 1 year OR RN experience required

Shift: 4x10, 6:45a – 5:15pm with call requirements. Shift note: They should be there to clock in at 6:38, b/c morning huddle starts at 6:45 sharp.

Call: Equally dispersed amongst staff, they differentiate between call during week vs weekend. During the week call would start at the end of their shift until the next morning. They do have night coverage teams during the week. Weekend call is 12 hours. Typical right now is 5 calls in a 6 week period (potentially 3 weekdays, 2 weekend). Require 30 minute call.
They usually don’t work holidays, but may be expectations for call.
Expectation for call coverage on the holiday – Memorial Day and 4th of July covered for now, but could be possible.

Floating: they are not expected to float

Bed: 6 Operating rooms

Required Licensure/Certifications: FL RN or Compact License, BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred

General OR Notes: They use RNs, STs, and STFAs and have unit aides. They’ve been having a lot of challenges in the OR due to having a very green staff (ex. STs they’re getting are usually right out of school). They have a great group of travelers who have stayed, but core staff is green. Multi-specialty in both adults and pediatrics. A lot of women and children, GYN, breast oncology, some ortho. They don’t do CVOR and neuro at this campus. Peds cases: Orthopedics, limited GYN, ENT and general Circulating required, scrub is a great addition A lot of robotics; have 2 Davinci Xi machines general GYN and onc GYN robotics (specific team for GYN onc, this person most likely won’t be there) 1+ yrs of experience; they are flexible on the years of experience a long as they have been in a strong multi-specialty OR Orientation: Monday – day 1: Start at Employee Health office for fit test, then come to them right after, will take the EPIC exam (must pass within 3 tries), and online education to get completed that day. Usually give them orientation for the rest of the week, and then expect they are able to hit the floor running the next week.
