Description
Title: EEG Technologist
Location: 101 Manning Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Variable - Days/Nights - 7p-7:30a or 7a-7:30p
Description: May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab.
-Performs diagnostic patient testing electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP).
-Performs room and equipment set-up and placement in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics.
-Calibrates and maintains equipment.
-Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests.
-Takes patient histories.
-Instruct patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.
