Description
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (General Surgery)
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Facility: St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (89 Days)
Shift
- Day Shift
- 40 Hours Per Week
- Variable Start Times: 5:30 AM – 7:00 AM

- 21 Operating Rooms
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 Years OR RN Experience
- First-time travelers may be considered with additional approval
- Not recommended for first-time travelers
Required Certification
- BLS
Required Surgical Experience
Candidates should have experience with:
- Abdominal Procedures
- XI Robotic Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Breast/Plastic Surgery
- Laparoscopic Procedures
- General Oncology
- Genitourinary (GU)
- Gynecology (GYN)
Note: This position is for General Surgery and will not involve Neuro or Orthopedic cases.
Call Requirements
- 30-Minute Response Time
- Weeknight Call: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- 5–8 Call Shifts per Schedule
- 1–2 Weekend Call Rotations (Saturday & Sunday, 12-hour shifts)

- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- EPIC Charting
- Alaris Pumps
- Pyxis Medication System
Floating
- May float within Main OR and Urology Center
- No floating to other hospitals
Orientation
- Approximately 1 to 1.5 weeks
