Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) – Roles & Responsibilities

• Provided comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
• Performed psychiatric assessments, monitored mental status, and developed individualized nursing care plans.
• Administered and monitored psychotropic medications, IV medications, and other prescribed treatments while assessing therapeutic responses.
• Managed behavioral crises using therapeutic communication, de-escalation techniques, and CPI intervention strategies.
• Conducted suicide, violence, and safety risk assessments while maintaining a secure therapeutic environment.
• Led and coordinated patient care as Charge RN, supervising staff, prioritizing assignments, and ensuring quality patient outcomes.
• Collaborated with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and coordinate discharge planning.
• Documented patient assessments, interventions, medication administration, and treatment progress in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Psychiatric RN experience.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Charge RN experience required.
• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• Active BLS and CPI Blue certifications.
• Ability to work 5x8 evening/night shifts with every other weekend (every weekend preferred) and holiday rotations.
• Strong crisis intervention, behavioral health assessment, and therapeutic communication skills.
• No on-call requirement.
