Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position in Wheeling, West Virginia. This role involves working on an acute care unit with a variety of patient diagnoses, including congestive heart failure, COPD, cellulitis, and pneumonia. The shift is rotating between day and night, with scheduling based on a weekly transition to Qgenda. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of related experience and hold current BLS (American Heart Association) and NIHSS certifications.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating day and night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS, minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Patient Conditions: Congestive heart failure, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, chole, appendectomy, pneumonia, urosepsis, acute kidney injury
• Unit notes: 50-mile radius submission rule; all candidate submissions must include an unexpired driver's license. Licensure hits must be disclosed at the time of submission.
• Staffing details: One charge RN per shift; RN must be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:6 or 1:7.
• Nursing staff: Nurse aides and PCTs available on the unit.
• Equipment: No ventilators; intermittent BIPAP available.
• Telehealth: Monitoring via tele with remote techs.
• Float: As needed based on census; external traveler first to float.
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Charting system: EPIC
• Shift notes: Rotating day/night shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Additional Information: Transition to Qgenda scheduling system. Scheduled weekends and holidays are approximately half of the total weekends.
