Patient Population

Common diagnoses and patient types include:

• CHF
• COPD
• Cellulitis
• Rule-out patients
• Cholecystectomy patients
• Appendectomy patients
• Pneumonia
• Urosepsis
• Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Telemetry monitoring, remotely monitored by monitor technicians
• Heparin titration based on aPTT results
• Intermittent BiPAP
• General Medical-Surgical nursing care
• Medication administration and patient monitoring

Unit Information

• One charge RN on the floor, with a patient assignment
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available on the unit
• No ventilator patients
• Intermittent BiPAP available
• No standby or call requirement
• Weekend and holiday coverage scheduled as needed, typically approximately half of the weekends
• Scheduling transitioning to Qgenda
• Floating may be required based on census; external travelers will be floated first
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Important Requirements

• Candidates must be comfortable with a 1:7 patient ratio when census requires it.
• A copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license must be provided at submission.
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission.
• A 50-mile radius rule applies.
