Description
IMCU / PCU Registered Nurse Job Description
Join a dedicated Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) team and provide high-quality care to adult patients with complex medical, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, trauma, and post-operative conditions. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced IMCU/PCU RN with strong clinical skills and the ability to care for higher-acuity patients.
Position Details
- Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Scheduling: Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed
- Floating: Required
- EMR: Epic
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Patient Population: Adults, 18 years and older
Unit Details
- Total Beds: 64
- Designated Neuro Beds: 15
Common Patient Diagnoses
Patients may include those with:
- Neurological conditions
- Cardiac conditions
- Trauma
- COPD and other respiratory conditions
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Sepsis
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Cardiovascular step-down needs
- Post-operative care
Specialty Equipment & Skills
Experience with the following equipment and therapies is preferred:
- Temporary pacemakers
- Chest tubes
- Arterial lines
- BiPAP
- Neptune Vapo
Ventilator Experience: Required for patients with chronic ventilator needs who are unable to wean, with Respiratory Therapy available to assist.
Submission Requirements
Candidates must provide:
- An up-to-date resume showing at least 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience and documenting travel experience
- Specialty-specific skills checklist
- Valid driver's license with an address matching submitted demographics
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- NURSYS license verification showing an active New York RN license and all active RN licenses
- RTO included at the time of submission
- Previous Epic EMR experience
Local Candidates
Local candidates are accepted. Candidates residing less than 75 miles from the facility will be considered at the applicable local rate.
