Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 6 weeks

Job Details

• Work setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health unit
• Unit size: 11 beds (max capacity 8 patients)
• Patient ratio: 1 RN to 5-6 patients when full
• Shift types: Mix of 8-hour and 12-hour variable shifts
• Typical shift hours: Primarily days/PM shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 11:00 AM–11:00 PM)
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation: Required
• Float requirements: May float to a nearby inpatient behavioral health unit if needed
• On-call: Possible low census on-call with minimum 2-hour callback
• Guaranteed hours: 72 hours biweekly; overtime after 80 hours worked in second week
• Charting system: Epic preferred

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 1-2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience preferred
• Behavioral Health experience required; medical/surgical background is a plus

Additional Information

• Scrub color: Any
• Radius rule: Contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Low census policy: Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• Flu season policy: Travelers declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times; compliance is mandatory with no exceptions
• Orientation week: GSA hours not guaranteed; set hours guaranteed except during holidays when unit is closed
