Location

• Bridgeport, West Virginia

Contract

• 16 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour day shifts

Unit Details

• Med-surg/oncology post-op unit
• 36 beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6
• Floating may be to any med-surg/tele unit

Required Qualifications

• Active RN role
• BLS certification
• Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips

Preferred Qualifications

• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy biotherapy certification
• Experience with chest tubes and PleurX chest tubes

Schedule Requirements

• Every-other-weekend coverage
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

Clinical Setting

• General med-surg patients
• Post-op patients, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and laparoscopic appendectomy
• Oncology patients with complications such as neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections
• Occasional psych patients with sitter support

Unit Resources

• Central monitor tech for the hospital
• 3 CNAs on days and 3 CNAs on nights
• CPAP and BiPAP managed by respiratory therapy
• Heparin is the only drip used

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
• No false nails
